History
The title refers to a song, written by Robert Dwyer Joyce (1830-1883), and the tune itself. The song, according to the Fiddler's Companion, commemorated the uprising of 1798 led by the Society of United Irishmen and was originally published c.1880 in "Ballads of Irish Chivalry."
